An exciting start to 2008 as Hendre acquires Thornhill Construction Ltd

Cardiff-based property maintenance company, Thornhill Construction Ltd, has signed an agreement to become the newest member of the Hendre Group, cementing Hendre's position as one of South Wales' largest housing organisations.

Thornhill construction will sit alongside the existing group members Hafod Housing Association, Hafod Care Association, Rhondda Housing Association and Foundation Housing Tai Sylfaen and it is expected to exceed a turnover of £5 million within the first three years of joining the group.

With this new addition to the Group, Hendre will see further expansion to its already diverse range of housing, residential and corporate services, as Thornhill Construction Ltd will continue to provide property maintenance services and will progressively take on an increased volume of in-house maintenance for the group's housing stock, ensuring quality and consistency throughout the group.

Elgar Lewis, Chairman of the Hendre Group commented: "We are pleased to welcome Thornhill Construction Ltd into the Group whose services will be of benefit to our tenants and clients alike. This new addition marks a significant step forward in making Hendre a true social enterprise, not only will Thornhill provide maintenance services but also opportunities in employment and training".
